Quería aportar alguna recomendación para esta semana en referencia a películas pero no me he dedicado a ver nuevas o de estos años pasados, sino que, parece que he vuelto a épocas pasadas donde las buenas películas sí creaban buenos personajes e historias con gancho, como es «El Eterno Resplandor de una Mente sin Recuerdos«, la cual, a simple vista no parecía muy buena pero, te empieza a cautivar por los diálogos, la ambientación y cómo se desarrolla esa historia de amor entre Joel y Clementine de la que ella más tarde se olvida tras una ruptura dolorosa. A muchos les puede parecer un argumento estúpido pero tiene su originalidad y trae cierta nostalgia de esos buenos momentos donde realmente se disfrutaba de las películas, ahora raramente voy al cine, no me llama la atención nada.

«Venganza» es una de las películas de acción que más recuerdos me trae. Anteriormente, estas películas eran muy populares, estaban mejor desarrolladas y las escenas de pelea eran más creíbles, ahora todo son coches explotando y malas actuaciones, se repiten tramas y casi sabes lo que va a ocurrir al final, se utiliza un lenguaje sencillo y el contexto es breve, en cambio, en películas como esta, se puede ver la complejidad de la situación, todas las secuencias están bien ligadas unas con otras y, aunque tiene un final obvio, tiende a ser más verosímil que muchas de las películas que están sacando ahora. El papel que hace Liam Neeson como Bryan, el padre de Kim (Maggie Grace) es excelente, desde el momento que la secuestran hasta que él la rescata de un grupo de albaneses que se dedican a la trata de blancas, te crees la historia, las actuaciones y sigues la trama a la perfección. Una de las que más nostalgia me ha dado en cuanto a películas de acción…

Otra de las películas que he visto hace poco es la de «Hansel y Gretel«, la cual, no es ni de lejos fiel al libro pero tiene su acción y su propia concepción sobre las brujas y cómo matarlas, algo que viene más ligado con quiénes eran desde un principio antes a llegar a series o películas de brujería de ahora donde tan solo se dedican a hacer magia con las manos, no cambian de aspecto y suelen ser preciosas, adolescentes en su mayoría y que no tienen ningún tipo de trasfondo. Con esta película he podido recordar cómo creaban las historias de las brujas, cómo las quemaban en la hoguera y cómo sobrevolaban el cielo con sus escobas, es algo mucho más verosímil que lo que venden ahora, la verdad.
Las brujas en las películas solían dar miedo, en esta cambian de aspecto a placer y sus poderes son más creíbles, aunque no se acerquen al libro. Ahora, suelen estar muy bien vistas y siempre relatan historias sobre brujas buenas, de luz o que todavía están probando sus poderes después de volver del instituto. He vuelto un poco a recordar cómo se esforzaban más por hacer buenas películas y traerte verdadero entretenimiento porque, a decir verdad, no es un peliculón pero, te mantiene viéndola. Además, siempre me han gustado las actuaciones de Jeremy Renner (Hansel).

Esta es una de las películas estrella, diría yo. «Van Helsing» siempre ha sido el icono en lo que se refiere a cazadores de vampiros, al menos, sale en todas las conversaciones sobre criaturas sobrenaturales. Aquí es donde empecé a darme cuenta que, normalmente, donde existe una criatura sobrenatural, siempre existirá un cazador que lo mate, digamos que tiene el escalón más alto de la cadena alimenticia. Me encantan todos los papeles que protagoniza Hugh Jackman y, por supuesto, Kate Bekinsale, aunque a esta última la he visto más en el papel de Selene en «Underworld» pero, en esta película también lo borda. Y, la ambientación transcurrida en Transilvania es genial, de las mejores que he visto.
Te trae recuerdos y nostalgia sobre cómo es un vampiro realmente. No tienen sentimientos, beben sangre humana para sobrevivir y salen de noche porque el sol les quema. Es lo básico que me gustaría que todas las películas de vampiros que han transcurrido hasta hoy recordaran porque hemos llegado a ver a Edward Cullen en «Luna Nueva» brillando en vez de quemarse y deshacerse en cenizas. Los vampiros son malvados, desde que dieron paso a un personaje como es Drácula o Lestat, cuando nos abrieron las puertas a que conociéramos ese anhelo por la sangre y el descontrol, esa poca importancia por el ser humano, esos momentos de incertidumbre donde el vampiro detesta en quién se ha convertido mientras ve a todos los que conoce morir.
Todo esto se ha terminado transformando en un conjunto de adolescentes que pueden salir a la luz del sol con anillos hechos por brujas como pasa en «The Vampire Diaries» (me encanta la serie, por cierto, pero no deja de ser completamente inverosímil dentro de una historia de vampiros. Aunque, en este caso, también diría que ha sido el propio mundo que ha creado Julie Plec para ellos) o como en las películas de Crepúsculo donde una humana se puede quedar embarazada de un vampiro por un medio-vampiro bebé, cuando los vampiros bien sabido es que no pueden procrear. Y muchas de las series que sacan ahora de este estilo están basadas en sentimientos y dulzura cuando un vampiro no siente nada en absoluto, una vez se convierte ya no recuerda qué es sentir.
Así que, esta película me recordó mucho esos momentos en las creaciones de los primeros vampiros reales y cómo los fans vivíamos lo que leíamos y lo podíamos visualizar con películas como esta. También podemos recordar personajes como Frankestein y criaturas como los hombres lobo, te hace querer verla cien veces.

Bueno, la trilogía de «Maze Runner» es de las mejores que he visto y he tenido la oportunidad de volverlas a ver. La ambientación post-apocalíptica y el contexto de la historia basada en un grupo de chicos que se despiertan con amnesia en medio de ninguna parte y su única forma de sobrevivir es recorrer un laberinto luchando contra aquello que intenta pararlos durante todo el trayecto. Me encantan todas las actuaciones de Dylan O’Brien y más sabiendo lo mucho que le cambiaron estas películas.
El hecho de que se basen en los libros de James Dashner y sean fieles a ellos, siempre les ha dado un plus de verosimilitud a todo el mundo creado por este. Es entretenida y los momentos de acción son buenos, te anima a ver la segunda y tercera parte, que tampoco se quedan atrás, me han gustado desde siempre.

Movies Memories:
I wanted to make some recommendations for this week in reference to movies but I haven’t dedicated to seeing new ones or from these past years, but it seems that I’ve gone back to bygone eras where good movies did create good characters and hooked stories, such as «The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind» which, at first glance didn’t seem very good but you begin to be captivated by the dialogues, the setting and how that love story unfolds between Joel and Clementine that she later forgets after a painful breakup. Many people may find it as stupid argument but it has its originality and brings some nostalgia for those good times where movies were really enjoyed, now I rarely go to the cinema, new movies arguments don’t catch my attencion at all.

«Revenge» is one of the action movies that brings me back the most memories. Previously, these films were very popular, they were better developed and the fight scenes were more believable, now it’s all cars exploding and bad performances, they usually repeat plots and you almost know what’s going to happen at the end, simple language is used and the context is brief, instead, in movies like this one you can see the complexity of the situation, all sequences are well linked to each other and, although it has an obvious ending, tends to be more plausible than many of the films they are making now. Liam Neeson’s role as Bryan, Kim’s father (Maggie Grace) is excellent, from the moment she is kidnapped until he rescues her from a group of Albanians who are engaged in sex trafficking, you believe the story, the performances and follow the plot perfectly. For me, one of the most popular in terms of action movies…

Another of the films I’ve seen recently is «Hansel and Gretel«, which is by no means faithful to the book but has its own action and conception about witches and how to kill them, something that comes more tied to who they were from the beginning before they get to series or witchcraft movies now where they only dedicate themselves to doing magic with their hands, do not change appearance and are usually beautiful, teenagers mostly and who have no background. With this film I have been able to remember how they created the stories of witches, how they burned them at the stake and how they flew over the sky with their brooms, it is something much more plausible than what they pretend to sell us now.
Witches in movies used to be scary, in this they change from appearance as they want and their powers are more believable, even if they don’t come close to the book. Now, they are often very well seen and always tell stories about good witches, light witches or who are still testing their powers after returning from high school. I’ve come back a little bit to remember how they worked harder to make good movies and bring you real entertainment because, to tell you the truth, it’s not the best movie ever but it keeps you watching it. Besides, I’ve always liked the performances of Jeremy Renner (Hansel).

This is one of the star movies, I’d say. «Van Helsing» has always been the icon when it comes to vampire hunters, at least it comes out in all conversations about supernatural creatures. This is where I began to realize that, normally, where there is a supernatural creature, there will always be a hunter who kills him, let’s say he has the highest step of the food chain. I love all the roles that Hugh Jackman star in and of course, Kate Bekinsale, although the latter I have seen more in the role of Selene in «Underworld» but, in this film, I also embroider it. And the atmosphere in Transylvania is great, one of the best I’ve ever seen.
It brings good memories and nostalgia for what a vampire really is. They have no feelings, they drink human blood to survive and they go out at night because the sun burns them. It’s the basics I’d like all the vampire movies that have happened to this days to remember why we’ve come to see Edward Cullen in «New Moon» shining instead of burning and getting rid of in ashes. Vampires are evil, ever since they gave way to a character like Dracula or Lestat, when they opened the doors for us to know that longing for blood and control, that little importance to the human being, those moments of uncertainty where the vampires hate who they’ve become while seeing everyone around them die.
All this has ended up transforming into a set of teenagers who can go out in the sunlight with rings made by witches as happens in «The Vampire Diaries» (I love the TV show by the way, but it is still completely implausible within a vampire story. Although, in this case, I would also say that it has been the world that Julie Plec has created for them) or as in «Twilight» films where a human can become pregnant with a vampire and create a half-vampire baby, when it’s well-known vampires cannot procreate. And many of the series they film now from this style are based on feelings and sweetness when a vampire feels nothing at all, once they turn into vampires they no longer remember what it is to feel.
So, this movie reminded me a lot of those moments in the creations of the first real vampires and how fans lived what we read and could watch it with movies like this. We can also remember characters like Frankestein and creatures like werewolves, it makes you want to watch it a hundred times.

Well, the «Maze Runner» trilogy is one of the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve had a chance to see them again. The post-apocalyptic setting and the context of the story based on a group of boys who wake up with amnesia in the middle of nowhere and their only way to survive is to traverse a maze laberinth fighting what tries to stop them all the way. I love all Dylan O’Brien’s performances and more knowing how much these films changed him.
The fact that they are based on and faithful to James Dashner’s books has always given a plus of plausibility. It is entertaining and the moments of action are good, it encourages you to watch the second and third part, which are not left behind either, I have always liked them.
