¿Por qué vuelvo a ver series que ya he visto y para qué? Porque las series que empezaron en el 2000 y algo después, son las que más me han impactado, desde las geniales actuaciones de los actores hasta los escenarios y los efectos especiales, aunque muchas no hayan tenido unos efectos perfectos pero han hecho que me enamorara de los personajes y le tuviera cariño a las series. Esta última cuarentena ha sido bastante fuerte y dura porque ha ocurrido en invierno y en Edimburgo ha hecho un frío horrible como para salir a la calle, así que, en vez de ver películas y series nuevas, me he puesto a revisualizar muchas que tenía en mi disco duro y otras que estaban en netflix para hacer de mi día a día algo más llevadero y entretenido, vamos a decir que me han acompañado y apoyado bastante en estos tiempos, para que luego digan que las series no sirven para nada…
Voy a ir añadiéndolas poco a poco y a comentarlas, además diré por qué las recomiendo. ¡Allá voy!
Esta fue la primera serie que volví a ver y, aunque los efectos de hombre lobo que aparecen no sean tan buenos como en otras series como «The Vampire Diaries» o «The Originals», desde la primera vez que la vi, me gustó mucho ese toque personal y más primitivo de interpretar a un alfa (este es el jefe de una manada de hombres lobo), también esa amistad inquebrantable que fortalece las relaciones entre los protagonistas en cada temporada y los elementos fantásticos que la componen, de hecho, el que más me ha gustado siempre ha sido el «Nogitsune» (es un zorro oscuro que posee y se convierte en la persona a la que ha poseído), Dylan O’brien protagoniza estas escenas increíblemente bien, de hecho, es el actor que más me gusta de toda la serie y, de hecho, su personaje Stiles Stilinski es, sin duda, mi favorito.
Otro elemento fantástico que incluyen en la serie y ha sido parte digamos de la mitología, ha sido las Banshees, en este caso, me encantó que lo protagonizara Holland Roden como Lydia Martin, hace un papel buenísimo y lo que se pretende es mostrar otra de las historias entrelazadas que van sucediendo. Derek Hale protagonizado por Tyler Hoechlin es otro de los personajes que muestran muy bien esa oscuridad de hombre lobo destinado a permanecer en la sombra, de hecho, me gustó mucho esa parte en la que explican por qué cambian los ojos de los hombres lobo y por qué los de Derek son azul zafiro, normalmente, es porque han perdido a seres queridos, los que tienen el color rojo sangre son los alfa y los que tienen el tono amarillo miel, suelen ser los que nunca han perdido a nadie ni han matado, los puros. Los diferentes tipos de hombres lobo son también muy interesantes, además de cómo se relacionan y la información que van incluyendo poco a poco, todo traído de la mitología, creo que eso es lo que más me gustó y me llamó la atención de esta serie.
Esta serie la he comentado bastante en mis blogs y creo que es la cuarta vez que la he visto. Los elementos fantásticos como son los vampiros, hombres lobo, brujas e híbridos, hacen que todo el universo de esta serie se dote de momentos muy tensos, otros especiales y nos muestre las diferentes formas de lealtad entre especies, cómo se protegen entre ellos y cómo algunos suben al poder como reyes, como es el caso de Klaus Mikaelson. Esta serie es el spin off formado por cuatro temporadas de «The Vampire Diaries» donde ya nos mostraron quiénes son y de quién se compone esta familia, desde Elijah, Kol, Rebekah, Klaus y Finn Mikaelson, los cuales, tienen una personalidad y carácter propio, un pasado y siempre ligados por el famoso «por y para siempre» de la serie de la que provienen.
Aparecen otros personajes que serán muy importantes y que cambiarán la vida de los hermanos y son Hope (la niña que nace de la unión entre Hayley Marshall, la mujer lobo y Klaus en una noche que se muestra en «The Vampire Diaries» y que termina siendo una trihíbrido, algo de lo que no se había hablado todavía en ninguna de las series anteriores), Halyley empieza a tener un papel muy importante también, ya no solo como madre de la criatura que va a traer el mal a Nueva Orleans, sino también, como futura híbrida y alfa de los hombres lobo. Un poco después, aparece la hermana perdida de la que nadie había oído hablar y que fue separada de la familia cuando era aún muy pequeña, Freya Mikaelson, la cual, es bruja y tiene su propia historia en la serie.
La imagen de Marcel Gerard como uno de los personajes principales me gustó mucho pero, en algunos momentos me chirrió, pasó a ser algo así como un personaje de apoyo o que ya no tuviera tanta importancia como la que se le había dado en la primera temporada, siendo que fue el aprediz de Klaus, e incluso, tratado como un hijo desde que este le ayudó a escapar de su padre maltratador y decidió llevarlo a casa y cuidarlo como uno más de los suyos. Como todos los demás, también tiene su propia historia. El personaje de Davina Claire me llamó bastante la atención al principio pero más tarde, parece que va perdiendo importancia, siendo que es una de las brujas de más importancia en la primera temporada cuando forma parte del ritual de la cosecha.
Esta serie la descubrí por la época del primer confinamiento y la volví a ver en el segundo, sigo haciéndolo porque todavía no ha acabado y cada semana sacan un nuevo episodio (cuando termine, escribiré un post sobre ella como recomendación y explicaré mucho más). Me encantó desde el principio, de hecho, sabiendo que proviene de «Archie Comics», me llamó todavía más la atención, sobretodo por la forma en la que uno de los personajes principales Jughead Jones explica el primer asesinato que ocurre en el pueblo de Riverdale, donde no pasan cosas por casualidad. Nos empiezan a introducir poco a poco a otros personajes como es Betty Cooper (la llamada «la chica de al lado»), Archie Andrews que al principio creo que era un personaje fuerte y luego va cayendo en picado, Veronica Lodge hija de mafiosos y que me encanta su carácter, por cierto, Cheryl Blossom (la hermana de Jason Blossom, el chico al que mataron y tiraron al río), además de otros como Kevin (el típico chaval homosexual que va al bosque a tener relaciones furtivas con chicos de vez en cuando sin que nadie lo sepa).
He de decir que el misterio y la oscuridad que muestra durante las primeras temporadas es ideal, intrigante, magnética, tiene todo lo que incluso, una serie de novela negra debería tener. Me gustó mucho esa época hasta ochentera que se muestra en la mayor parte de la serie, dado que, en esta última, se ha roto por completo y han confundido los años en los que transcurre la serie, dejando, supuestamente, siete entre la etapa adolescente y la adulta de los personajes. Hay que decir que, en cada temporada hay un nuevo misterio que descubrir, el cual, Jughead y Betty son los más interesados en descubrir y desvelar, tiene ambientaciones muy oscuras, personajes muy interesantes que van saliendo en la serie y te acerca mucho a cada uno de ellos pero, he de decir, que esta última temporada me resulta bastante complicada de seguir, hay demasiadas historias entrelazadas entre personajes y quisieron sacarla tan pronto que creo que se precipitaron, hay muchas cosas en las que centrarse conforme vas viéndola y, bueno, no veo la misma dinámica de misterio y suspense como en las primeras temporadas, me deja más extrañada y confundida que nada pero bueno, la sigo viendo, la comentaré más cuando esta temporada termine 😉
Por supuesto, conociéndome, ¡esta serie no podría faltar! No tengo ni idea de cuántas veces la he visto ya, a decir verdad, me la sé de memoria y la personalidad de Veronica es muy dinámica, llena de misterio, compuesta por drama, con una suerte en relaciones devastadora y un sarcasmo que me intriga y magnetiza. Veronica trabaja con su padre Keith Mars en su oficina de Detectives Privados y ella le ayuda a investigar en las horas en las que no va a clase, pero hay misterios que dan lugar en este que Veronica acepta a cambio de dinero o por hacerle un favor a un amigo o a alguien que conoce de una forma muy intuitiva y determinante. Esta serie es la típica novela negra pero a través de imágenes, incluso, los escenarios y los diálogos están muy bien traídos, las actuaciones son fantásticas y la investigación de la muerte de su mejor amiga Lily Kane donde empieza la primera temporada, ya te da la opción de quedarte pegada a la silla. El siguiente misterio, tiene que ver con el accidente del autobús, una bomba explota antes de que caiga por el acantilado y a Veronica la lleva por una tormenta de insomnio y pesadillas hasta que descubre quién es el asesino. Por último, el tercer misterio de la serie, tiene que ver con las violaciones de la Universidad de Herst, la misma donde Veronica decide estudiar Criminología para convertirse en una verdadera detective privado como su padre de una forma oficial.
Todos los fans de la serie, nos preguntábamos qué pasaría con la serie después de un final tan abierto, corto y no determinante al terminar el último capítulo de la tercera temporada, tuvimos una esperanza de que hubiera una cuarta donde nos mostrase qué había pasado con Veronica en sus prácticas para el FBI donde bien muestra que las consigue en la tercera temporada pero se canceló y no la siguieron. En 2014 nuestra esperanza sobre la serie volvió a nosotros cuando hicieron una película de Veronica Mars en su etapa adulta, dónde había acabado después de todo lo que pasó en el instituto y en su etapa en el FBI (la obvian bastante). La vemos tratando de entrar en un despacho de abogados como titulada en Derecho y Psicología, siendo atraída por un asesinato en Neptune (California) donde Logan Echolls (el ex novio de Veronica que sigue siendo muy querido) es acusado de haber matado a su novia. Veronica deja a Stosh conocido por «Piz» en casa, dado que, al final de la tercera temporada se muestra cómo ambos empezaban una relación y en la película lo quisieron seguir igual. Fue una película genial y que disfruté mucho, tenía toques a novela negra, al igual que, en la serie con ciertos toques más modernos debido a los años pasados desde el rodaje de las series y la película. En resumen, me quedé satisfecha.
Cuando creíamos que todo había terminado, llegó en 2019 la que sería la cuarta temporada de la serie y que seguiría a la película donde se puede ver a Veronica y a Logan viviendo juntos en Neptune, dado que, después de haber descubierto que este no había matado a Bonnie DeVille y haber empezado algo nuevo con Logan, Veronica decide quedarse ayudando a su padre en la oficina como en los viejos tiempos y en la cuarta temporada. El misterio que acecha es una serie de bombas que han hecho que la gente se alerte y asuste. Tiene los suficientes capítulos como para terminarla y zanjar por completo la serie de Veronica Mars donde la vemos completamente comprometida, siguiendo a esa idea de casarse y pensar en tener familia, cuando algo ocurre y pierde a una de las personas más importantes de su vida, quién la haya visto lo sabrá. Fue algo que a muchos fans nos dolió profundamente, la pérdida de este personaje parecía inevitable pero le da a la serie y al mismo personaje de Veronica un toque dramático y oscuro, de realidad que no en muchas series podemos ver.
Esta es, sin duda, mi serie favorita. La historia de esta serie nos muestra a una joven llamada Nikita que fue entrenada por una sociedad encubierta llamada División para convertirla en una asesina. La primera orden que desobedeció fue la de matar a una joven de 10 años, la famosa Alexandra Udinov. Me encantan las historias de ambos personajes, están bien elaboradas, surrealistas pero muy bien estructuradas y son una fuerza para la serie, su unión y las ganas de hacer caer División hacen que la primera temporada te acerque mucho a lo que está pasando, te intrigue y te mantengas atento a lo que ocurre. Nikita usa todas las dotes aprendidas en División para hacer caer a Percy (el jefe de la misma que ha vuelto a esta célula criminal aún más peligrosa y malvada). Aparece Michael, el cual, se esperaba fuese un aliado de Nikita muy pronto y descubriera que Alex era el topo que buscaban en División.
La segunda y tercera temporada nos llevan a ver cómo Alexandra quiere llevar a cabo su venganza contra los hombres que contrataron a División para matar a su familia y descubre cosas que no imaginaba que hubieran ocurrido, a la par que vamos conociendo a nuevos personajes que hacen que la serie cada vez sea más especial. La cuarta temporada se basa en demostrar la inocencia de Nikita ante el mundo. Así contado, no suena muy interesante, por ello, hay que verla para captar todos los detalles, aunque he de decir que todas las actuaciones fueron perfectas, te puedes creer que lo que está ocurriendo es real y no son actores los que están mostrándote la historia por mucho que sí lo sean. Tienen historias entrelazadas en la principal muy interesantes como la de Michael, la de Seymour Birkoff (el hacker y el llamado Caminante de las Sombras), la de Alex, como he dicho, y también sobre la de Amanda, una mujer despiadada y muy pero que muy mala. La serie muestra muy bien esa lealtad y amistad entre los personajes que componen el mundo de Nikita y cómo se apoyan entre sí. No dejo de decir que es mi favorita.
Supongo que conocéis a estos tres, son Alan, Jake y Charlie Harper, personajes de la serie «Dos Hombres y Medio». En esta segunda cuarentena, necesitaba reírme, literalmente, no quería tanto drama, ya teníamos bastante con el «bichito» que nos acecha, así que, decidí ver esta serie hasta la temporada siete, donde Charlie Sheen (protagoniza a Charlie Harper) desaparece de la serie. Siempre he tenido mucho cariño a estos tres tontos porque, donde se ven, son una familia un poco extraña, se quieren con locura y se aprecian pero no dejan de demostrarse lo mucho que se odian entre sí, es un tanto complejo de entender pero ahí está. Nos muestran a dos hermanos y al sobrino, hijo de Alan, tiene padres en plena separación y el cual, termina junto a su padre en casa de Charlie, en principio, durante unos meses hasta que se arreglase con Judith, su futura ex mujer. Esta convivencia se alarga años, unos años donde pasan de todo juntos y Jake crece conociendo a todas las mujeres que Charlie trae a casa como rollos de una noche, entre excusas para no volver a verlas y llamarlas y noches de borrachera sin control.
Alan es el típico hombre detallista, que Charlie a veces califica como «gay» y tacaño, porque no gasta ni un duro, quiere que todo lo pague su hermano mayor y por las camisetas baratas de mercadillo que se compra, es muy gracioso. El personaje de Alan va evolucionando de hombre comprometido, detallista y bueno, a desesperanzado, algo pasota y con ansias de vivir una vida tan despreocupada como la de Charlie. Han tenido discusiones fuertes, otras sin importancia y, muchas veces, lo único que les hacía volver a hablar eran los gases de Jake después de la cena. Esta serie muestra un poco la divertida vida de tres hombres viviendo solos, sus reglas, el mismo odio que tienen por la abuela de Jake, Evelyn y cómo pueden ser de complejas las relaciones familiares. Tiene muchos momentos graciosos, otros dramas, instantes que muestran muy bien la inocencia de un niño que parece que no entienda lo que pasa pero que lo capta todo aunque sus padres y su tío traten de ocultárselo, también lo importante que es no discutir delante de un niño porque absorben todo lo que oyen. Para mí, siempre ha sido una serie muy divertida y que veo cuando quiero relajar un poco la mente.
En esta segunda cuarentena, he visto esta serie dos veces porque la sucesión de capítulos, las historias que encierra y las investigaciones policiales mantienen un ritmo bastante realista y relajado que me encanta. Podemos ver al protagonista de esta historia, Patrick Jane, un hombre que se ganaba la vida de médium y quién sufrió una tragedia que le hizo replatearse su vida. Hablo sobre el renombrado asesino en serie John el Rojo quién mató a su mujer y su hija por haberle humillado en televisión, decidiendo él mismo ofrecer sus servicios de mentalista para ayudar a las fuerzas del orden a meter a asesinos en la cárcel, en este caso, fue a las oficinas de Investigación Criminal de Sacramento (California) donde conoció a Teresa Lisbon (jefa de la brigada), Wayne Rigsby, Grace Vampelt y Kimball Cho, los que serían sus compañeros durante el resto de su viaje hasta cobrar su venganza.
El personaje que han formado sobre Patrick Jane es muy inspirador, toca mucho la fibra sensible, su forma de hablar maleducada, su sarcasmo, su manera de actuar y manipular las situaciones para pillar a los asesinos con las manos en la masa son, ciertamente, las cosas más atrayentes de la serie, su personalidad capta al que decide verla, no decepciona. Me gusta mucho la fiabilidad de las investigaciones a la vida real, los procedimientos que siguen, los interrogatorios, los posibles problemas que pueden ocasionar el que tengas un mal comportamiento, las sanciones, incluso, muchas de las reglas que se siguen, son muy parecidas a la realidad. Combina muy bien momentos de drama, algo de diversión, juegos mentales, reflexiones profundas, las formas en las que un asesino en serie puede matar, el sentido que tiene para alguien quitar una vida y cómo es de tóxica o sana la venganza y hasta qué punto es legal. Esta serie tiene tantos matices que sería imposible no echarle un solo vistazo 🙂

Why do I ever watch series I’ve already watched again and for what? Because the series that started in 2000 and even after, are the ones that have impacted me the most, from the great performances of the actors to the stages and the special effects, although many have not had perfect effects but have made me fall in love with the characters and love the series. This last quarantine has been quite strong and hard because it has happened in winter and in Edinburgh it has made a horrible cold to go out on the street, so instead of watching new movies and series, I have started to rewatch many that I had on my hard drive and others that were on netflix to make my day to day something more bearable and entertaining, let’s say that I have been accompanied and supported quite a bit in these times, incredible that people say that series are useless…
I’m going to add them slowly and I’m going to say why I recommend them. Here we go!
TEEN WOLF: This was the first series I watched again and although the werewolf effects that appear are not as good as in other series like «The Vampire Diaries» or «The Originals», from the first time I watched it, I really liked that personal and primitive touch of playing an alpha (this is the boss of a pack of werewolves), also that unwavering friendship that strengthens the relationships between the protagonists in each season and the fantastic elements that make up it, in fact, the one that I liked the most has always been the «Nogitsune» (it is a dark fox that possesses and becomes the person to which he has possessed), Dylan O’brien stars in these scenes incredibly well, in fact, he is the actor that I like the most in the whole series and, in fact, his character Stiles Stilinski is undoubtedly my favorite.
Another fantastic element that the producers include in the series and has been part of the mythology is the Banshees, in this case, I loved that Holland Roden starred as Lydia Martin, plays a very good role and what is intended is to show another of the intertwined stories that are happening. Derek Hale starring Tyler Hoechlin is another of the characters who show all too well that werewolf darkness destined to stay in the shade, in fact, I really liked that part where they explain why werewolves’ eyes change and why Derek’s are sapphire blue, normally, it’s because they’ve lost a loved one, those that have the color blood red are the alpha ones and those that have the honey yellow tone, they are usually those who have never lost anyone or killed, the pure ones. The different types of werewolves are also very interesting, besides how they relate and the information that they are gradually including, all brought from mythology, I think that’s what I liked it the most the first time I watched it and it caught my attention in this series.
THE ORIGINALS: This series I’ve talked a lot about on my blogs and I think it’s the fourth time I’ve watched it. The fantastic elements such as vampires, werewolves, witches and hybrids, make the whole universe of this series endow with very tense moments, other special ones and show us the different forms of loyalty between species, how they protect each other and how some rise to power as kings, as is the case of Klaus Mikaelson. This series is the spin-off formed by four seasons coming from «The Vampire Diaries» where they already showed us who they are and who this family is made up of, from Elijah, Kol, Rebekah, Klaus and Finn Mikaelson, who have a personality and character of their own, a past and always linked by the famous «always and forever» of the series from which they come.
Other characters that appear will be very important and that will change the lives of the brothers and are Hope (the girl born from the union between Hayley Marshall, the werewolf and Klaus on a night shown in «The Vampire Diaries» and which ends up being a trihybrid, something that had not yet been talked about in any of the previous series) Halyley begins to play a very important role as well, not only as the mother of the creature that will bring evil to New Orleans, but also as future hybrid and alpha werewolves. A little later, the lost sister that no one had heard of appears and who was separated from the family when she was still very young, Freya Mikaelson, who is a witch and has her own story in the series.
The image of Marcel Gerard as one of the main characters I liked very much but, in some moments he squeaked to me, he became something of a supporting character or that was no longer as important as that given to him in the first season, being that he was Klaus’s aprentice, and even treated like a son since he helped him escape from his abusive father and decided to take him home and take care of him as one more of their family. Like everyone else, it also has its own story. Davina Claire’s character caught my eye quite a bit at first but later, it seems to be losing importance, being that she is one of the most important witches in the first season when she is part of the harvest ritual.
RIVERDALE: This series I discovered from the time of the first lockdown and I watched it again in the second, I keep watching it because it is not over yet and every week they take out a new episode (when I finish it, I will write a post about it as a recommendation and explain much more). I loved it from the beginning, in fact, knowing that it comes from «Archie Comics», it caught my eye even more, especially because of the way one of the main characters Jughead Jones explains the first murdered one that happens in the village of Riverdale, where things do not happen by chance. We are gradually introduced to other characters such as Betty Cooper (the so-called «the girl next door»), Archie Andrews who at first I think was a strong character and then plummets, Veronica Lodge daughter of mobsters and I love her character, by the way, Cheryl Blossom (the sister of Jason Blossom, the guy who was killed and thrown into the river), besides others like Kevin (the typical gay kid who goes to the woods to have sneaky relationships with boys from time to time without anyone knowing).
I have to say that the mystery and darkness it shows during the first few seasons is ideal, intriguing, magnetic, has everything that even a black novel series should have. I really liked that time until eighty-something shown in most of the series, since in the latter, it has completely been broken and have confused the years in which the series takes place, leaving, supposedly, seven between the teenage period and adult stages of the characters. It must be said that, in each season there is a new mystery to discover, which, Jughead and Betty are the most interested in discovering and unveiling, has very dark settings, very interesting characters that are coming out in the series and brings you very close to each of them but, I have to say, that this last season I find it quite difficult to follow, there are too many stories intertwined between characters and they wanted to bring it out so soon that I think they rushed it, there are many things to focus on as you watch it and well, I don’t see the same mystery dynamic and suspense as in the early seasons, it leaves me more strange and confused than anything but well, I keep watching it anyway, I’ll comment on it more when this season ends 😉
VERONICA MARS: Of course, knowing me, this series couldn’t be missed! I have no idea how many times I have already watched it, to tell you the truth, I know it by heart and Veronica’s personality is very dynamic, full of mystery, composed of drama, with a luck in devastating relationships and a sarcasm that intrigues and magnetizes me. Veronica works with her father Keith Mars in his Private Detectives office and she helps him to investigate at times when she does not go to class, but there are mysteries that give rise to this one that Veronica accepts in exchange for money or for doing a favor to a friend or someone she knows in a very intuitive and decisive way. This series is the typical black novel but through images, even the stages and dialogues are very well brought, the performances are fantastic and the investigation of the death of her best friend Lily Kane where the first season begins, already gives you the option to stay glued to the chair. The next mystery is about the bus crash, a bomb explodes before it falls off the cliff and Veronica is carried away by a storm of insomnia and nightmares until she finds out who the killer is. Finally, the third mystery of the series, has to do with the rapes in the Herst University, the same where Veronica decides to study Criminology to become a true private detective like her father in an official way.
All fans of the series, we wondered what would happen to the series after such an open, short and non-decisive ending at the end of the last chapter of the third season, we had hoped that there would be a fourth where the producers would show us what had happened to Veronica in her practices for the FBI where they well shows she gets them in the third season but it was canceled and did not follow it. In 2014 our hope of the series came back to us when they made a Veronica Mars film in her adulthood, where she had ended up after everything that happened in high school and in her time at the FBI (they make this part quite obvious but don’t comment on it). We see her trying to break into a law firm as a law and psychology degree, being drawn to a murder in Neptune, California, where Logan Echolls (Veronica’s long-time ex-boyfriend) is accused of killing his girlfriend. Veronica leaves Stosh known for «Piz» at home, as the end of the third season shows how the two started a relationship and in the film they wanted to follow it the same. It was a great film and I really enjoyed it, it had touches to black novel, as well as in the series with certain more modern touches due to the years since the filming of the series and the film. In short, I was satisfied.
When we thought it was all over, it came in 2019 what would be the fourth season of the series and that it would follow the film where you can see Veronica and Logan living together in Neptune, since having discovered that he had not killed Bonnie DeVille and started something new with Logan, Veronica decides to stay helping her father in the office as in the old days and in the fourth season. The mystery lurking this season is a series of bombs that have made people alert and frightened. It has enough chapters to finish it and completely settle the Veronica Mars series where we see her completely engaged, following that idea of getting married and thinking about having a family, when something happens and loses one of the most important people in her life, whoever has watch it will know. It was something that many fans felt very deeply in our hearts, the loss of this character seemed inevitable but it gives the series and Veronica’s same character a dramatic and dark touch, reality that not in many series we can see.
NIKITA: This is definitely my favorite series. The story of this one shows us a young woman named Nikita who was trained by a covert society called Division to turn her into a murderer. The first order she disobeyed was to kill a 10-year-old girl, the famous Alexandra Udinov. I love the stories of both characters, they are well crafted, surreal but very well structured and are a force for the series, their union and the desire to bring Division down make the first season bring you very close to what is going on, intrigue you and stay attentive to what happens. Nikita uses all the skills learned in Division to bring down Percy (the division chief who has returned to this even more dangerous and evil criminal cell). Michael appears, who was expected to be an ally of Nikita very soon and discovered that Alex was the mole they were looking for in Division.
The second and third seasons lead us to see how Alexandra wants to carry out her revenge against the men who hired Division to kill her family and discover things that she did not imagine would have happened, while we are meeting new characters who make the series more and more special. The fourth season is based on proving Nikita’s innocence to the world. So told, it doesn’t sound very interesting, so you have to watch it to capture all the details, although I have to say that all the performances were perfect, you can believe that what is happening is real and it is not actors who are showing you the story no long as they are. They have very interesting stories in the main one like Michael’s, Seymour Birkoff’s (the hacker and the so-called Shadow Walker), Alex’s, as I said, and also about Amanda’s, a ruthless and very bad woman. The series shows very well that loyalty and friendship between the characters that make up the world of Nikita and how they support each other. I keep saying it’s my favorite.
TWO AND A HALF MEN: I guess you know these three, it’s Alan, Jake and Charlie Harper, characters from the two-and-a-half men series. In this second quarantine, I needed to laugh, I literally didn’t want so much drama, we already had enough of the «bug» that haunts us, so I decided to watch this series until season seven, where Charlie Sheen (stars Charlie Harper) disappears from the series. I’ve always been very fond of these three fools because, where they look, they’re a little strange family, they love each other madly and they appreciate each other but they keep showing each other how much they hate each other, it’s kind of complex to understand but there it is. They show us two brothers and Alan’s son, he has parents in full separation and who, along with his father at Charlie’s house, at the begining, for a few months until he settled down with Judith, his future ex-wife. This coexistence lasts for years, a few years where they spend everything together and Jake grows up meeting all the women that Charlie brings home like one-night stand, between excuses so as not to see them again and call them and drunken nights out of control.
Alan is the typical detailed man, who Charlie sometimes describes as «gay» and stingy, because he doesn’t spend a pen in anything, he wants his older brother to pay for everything and for the cheap flea shirts he buys, it’s very funny. Alan’s character is evolving from a committed, detailed, and good man, to hopeless, somewhat step-by-step, and eager to live a life as carefree as Charlie’s. They’ve had strong discussions, others unimportant, and often the only thing that made them talk again was Jake’s gas after dinner. This series shows a little bit about the fun lives of three men living alone, their rules, the same hatred they have for Jake’s grandmother Evelyn, and how complex family relationships can be. He has many funny moments, other dramas, moments that show very well the innocence of a child who does not seem to understand what is going on but who captures everything even if his parents and uncle try to hide it from him, also how important it is not to argue in front of a child because they absorb everything they hear. For me, it’s always been a very fun series and I watch it when I want to relax my mind a little bit.
THE MENTALIST: In this second quarantine, I’ve watched this series twice because the succession of chapters, the stories it encloses and the police investigations keep a pretty realistic and relaxed pace that I love. We can see the protagonist of this story, Patrick Jane, a man who made a living as a medium and who suffered a tragedy that made him relave his life. He talked about the renowned serial killer the Red Jonh who killed his wife and daughter for humiliating him on television, deciding himself to offer his mentalist services to help law enforcement put killers in jail, in this case, he went to the Criminal Investigation Offices in Sacramento, California, where he met Teresa Lisbon (head of the brigade) Wayne Rigsby, Grace Vampelt and Kimball Cho, who would be his partners for the rest of his journey until he exacted his revenge.
The character the producers have formed about Patrick Jane is very inspiring, he plays a lot of sensitive fiber, his way of speaking rudely, his sarcasm, his way of acting and manipulating situations to catch the killers in the hands in the dough are certainly the most attractive things in the series, his personality captures the one who decides to watch the series, he does not disappoint. I really like the reliability of real-life investigations, the procedures that follow, the interrogations, the possible problems that can cause the misbehavior, the sanctions, even many of the rules that are followed, are very similar to reality in the police enforcements. It combines very well moments of drama, some fun, mind games, deep reflections, the ways in which a serial killer can kill, the meaning it has for someone to take a life and how toxic revenge is or healthy and to what extent it is legal. This series has so many nuances that it would be impossible not to take a single look 🙂
