Jessica Jones ha llevado varias vidas diferentes. Puso sus poderes al servicio de la justicia como superheroína antes de abrir una agencia de detectives privados. Ahora es pareja del vengador Luke Cage, se ha resignado a trabajar para el «Daily Bugle» de Jonah Jameson… y está esperando un bebé. ¿Jessica estará preparada para enfrentarse a su mayor desafío?
Había pensado este año en incluir lecturas de cómics, hace tiempo que los tengo en la estantería y no los cojo y me gustan mucho, que para eso los compré. Este ha sido el primero que he querido leer y bueno, en general, me ha dejado una sensación un tanto amarga. Conocí a Jessica Jones en la serie de Netflix, digamos que tengo esa imagen de ella muy arraigada, su personaje es fuerte, decidido, real. El cómic no me ha mostrado esto, sino a una Jessica Jones totalmente diferente, ajena al dolor que solía sentir o a cómo odiaba a la gente, no me la hubiera imaginado embarazada nunca jamás por ese carácter y temperamento tan oscuros y desbocados.
La historia de Jessica y Luke empezó en la serie y supongo que en otros cómics también se debió de hablar de ella, para mí, innecesaria. He sentido como si el principio y el final de la historia no tuvieran nada que ver con lo que se cuenta en la parte principal, donde vemos a Jessica investigando un posible crimen. Esta parte sí me ha resultado interesante, dado que, encuentra a una joven muerta en el suelo de su oficina, después le pegan un tiro a ella, y a dos superheroínas más, dando como resultado el haber sobrevivido a ese tiro en la frente. Me sentí intrigada cuando empezó a intercalar estos contextos, cuando empiezan a aparecer más personajes con súper poderes y podemos ver a muchos de Los Vengadores formando parte de ello.
He visto a una Jessica Jones más blanda, en el principio y el final, no la veo como madre, lo siento. Mientras que, en la parte principal, he visto a la Jessica de siempre, la detective privado que había conocido. Para mí fue como hacer frente a dos personalidades distintas que no tenían nada que ver la una con la otra. En general, el cómic trata de mostrar lo que en realidad envuelve la vida de alguien como Jessica, cómo se lidia el trabajo con la vida personal y cómo investigar un crimen de este calibre se vuelve cada vez más retorcido e interesante. De hecho, nos topamos con Dia Sloane, la cual, fue una cliente de Jessica seis años atrás, la cual, había adquirido poderes telequinéticos y podía hacer realidad cualquier cosa que pensase. Por lo que, su novio estaba celoso, envidiaba lo que ella tenía y él lo quería también, así que, la maravillosa idea de Dia fue traspasarle sus poderes a su novio para hacerle feliz.
Nos topamos con otro súper poder más tarde y ante la recurrente pregunta de por qué las superheroínas que deberían haber muerto, han vuelto a la vida. Su novio maltrataba a Dia tanto que terminaba odiándose a sí mismo, así que, deseó con todas sus fuerzas el poder sacar esa oscuridad de él, queriendo ser solo bueno, alguien que ella pudiera merecer. Y de hecho, así pasó. El chico se separó en dos, eran dos personas separadas, el bueno y el malo. Creo que es una historia bastante potente y atractiva si te gustan este tipo de temas. Lo que no me llega a convencer del todo es el hecho de que los superhéroes sean conocidos por todos y que ayuden a la Justicia a terminar con el crimen, dado que, yo he crecido con esos superhéroes que vivían escondidos en Batcuevas y saltaban de edificios sin ser vistos, se avergonzaban de qué eran y les resultaba complicado compartirlo incluso con sus seres queridos. Te mostraban esa soledad de ser constantemente incomprendido.
Las ilustraciones del principio y el final no me han gustado tanto como las de la historia principal, no sé por qué, pero me parecen un tanto distintas. De todas formas, en general, me ha gustado. La recomendaría en un 40% si queréis una lectura simple, no muy pesada y para entreteneros durante unos días con algo un poco distinto a lo que estáis acostumbrados.

I had thought this year about including comic book readings, I have had them on the shelf for a long time and I do not take them and I like them a lot, that’s why I bought them. This was the first one I’ve wanted to read and well, in general, it has left me with a somewhat bitter feeling. I met Jessica Jones in the Netflix series, let’s say I have that image of her very ingrained, her character is strong, determined, real. The comic has not shown me this, but a totally different Jessica Jones, oblivious to the pain she used to feel or how she hated people, I would never have imagined her pregnant because of that dark and unbridled character and temperament.
The story of Jessica and Luke started in the series and I guess in other comics it must have been talked about as well, for me, unnecessary. I’ve felt like the beginning and end of the story have nothing to do with what’s told in the main part, where we see Jessica investigating a possible crime. This part has been interesting to me, given that she finds a young woman dead on the floor of her office, then someone shoots her, and to two more superheroines, resulting in having survived that shot in the forehead. I was intrigued when it started to intersperse these contexts, when more characters with super powers start to appear and we can see a few of the Avengers being part of it.
I’ve seen a softer Jessica Jones, at the beginning and the end, I don’t see her as a mother, I’m sorry. While, in the main part, I have seen the real Jessica, the private detective I had met. For me it was like facing two different personalities who had nothing to do with each other. Overall, the comic is about showing what really surrounds the life of someone like Jessica, how work is dealt with personal life, and how investigating a crime of this caliber becomes increasingly twisted and interesting. In fact, we stumbled upon Dia Sloane, who was a client of Jessica’s six years earlier, who had acquired telekinetic powers and could make anything she thought come true. So, her boyfriend was jealous, envied what she had and he wanted it too, so Dia’s wonderful idea was to transfer her powers to her boyfriend to make him happy.
We stumble upon another superpower later and faced with the recurring question of why the superheroines who should have died, have come back to life. Her boyfriend mistreated Dia so much that he ended up hating himself, so he wished with all his might to be able to get that darkness out of him, wanting to be just good, someone she could deserve. And in fact, that’s how it happened. The boy separated in two, they were two separate people, the good guy and the bad one. I think it’s a pretty powerful and engaging story if you like these kind of topics. What does not convince me at all is the fact that superheroes are known to everyone and that they help Justice to end crime, Since, I grew up with those superheroes who lived hidden in Batcaves and jumped from buildings without being seen, they were ashamed of what they were and found it difficult to share it even with their loved ones. They showed you that loneliness of being constantly misunderstood.
I didn’t like the illustrations at the beginning and the end as much as the main story, I don’t know why, but they seem a bit different to me. Anyway, in general, I liked it. I would recommend it by 40% if you want a simple reading, not very heavy and to entertain you for a few days with something a little different from what you are used to.
